Register Today for Sept. 25 OSHRM-SOHA Fall Conference

Registration is now open for the annual in-person fall conference of the Ohio Society of Health Care Risk Managers and the Society for Ohio Health Care Attorneys. The one-day event will be held Sept. 25 at the Quest Conference Center in Westerville, Ohio.

The conference will bring together risk managers, attorneys, and health care leaders to discuss key legal, regulatory and risk management issues affecting hospitals and health systems. Sessions will cover topics including patient safety, liability, medical board updates and emerging health care policy developments. Continuing education credits for nursing, CLE, and CPHRM have been applied for.

ODH Offers Health and Safety Tips for Back-to-School Season

The Ohio Department of Health is encouraging families to prioritize children’s health and well-being as students return to school. Parents are advised to check whether children are up to date on required vaccinations, complete necessary school health and medication forms and establish healthy routines for sleep and nutrition. Sean McGlone Named Next OHA President, CEO

OHA this week announced that Sean McGlone, OHA's senior vice president and general counsel, will become the organization’s next president and chief executive officer effective Oct. 17, 2026. McGlone will succeed Mike Abrams, who joined OHA as president and CEO in February 2012. Abrams announced his retirement earlier this year. Ohio health care professionals can take advantage of a special Healthcare Appreciation Night offer from the Columbus Blue Jackets during three home games this season. Free Health Screenings Available Saturday at Ross County Family Health Fair

The Ross County Health District will host its second annual Family Health Fair from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Mount Logan Learning Center in Chillicothe. The free event will offer health screenings, including free school sports physicals available on a first-come, first-served basis through the Adena Family Medicine Residency Program in collaboration with the health district. Families can also access community health and safety resources and enjoy activities such as car seat checks, a mobile medical unit and a touch-a-truck experience.
