Health Care Worker of the Year

Albert E. Dyckes Health Care Worker of the Year Award

OHA’s Albert E. Dyckes Health Care Worker of the Year Award honors the excellence of front-line health care workers and is presented each year to one Ohio caregiver from one of our member hospitals who routinely goes beyond the call of duty, daily reflects the mission and values of their organization, and notably gives back to the community.

Eligibility

Each member hospital is invited to nominate one individual who has not been nominated previously by that organization. Health systems are encouraged to submit nominations on behalf of each of their member hospitals or select one nominee to represent the entire health system.

Nominees must be current employees of an OHA member hospital. The nominee can be a direct caregiver, but that is not a requirement. Support personnel are also eligible if they exemplify the qualities represented by this award.

A panel of outside reviewers will rate each nomination based on the narrative provided for each nominee. Each nomination should:

  • Describe the nominee’s front-line health care worker role and how the nominee embodies the characteristics of Health Care Worker of the Year highlighting their most notable achievements
  • Describe how the nominee routinely went beyond the call of duty
  • Describe how the nominee reflects the mission and values of your organization
  • Describe how the nominee notably gives back to the community
