Fatherhood & Partner Engagement
Ohio First Steps, in partnership with the Ohio Commission on Fatherhood, began in 2022 recognizing hospitals for engaging fathers and partners in the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding. Hospitals that have been awarded steps through the First Steps program can apply for this designation for any step they have already successfully achieved.
About the Program
This designation is to recognize hospitals that support family breastfeeding goals by engaging with fathers and partners in the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding. For hospitals that have already been awarded steps through the First Steps program, they can apply for this designation for those awarded steps. Hospitals can be designated Bronze (1-3 steps), Silver (4-6 steps), Gold (7-9 steps), or Platinum (all 10 steps).
This designation has been added as a component of the regular application process for hospitals interested in applying. Application links and information can be found here.
