Free Health Screenings Available Saturday at Ross County Family Health Fair

The Ohio Department of Health is encouraging families to prioritize children’s health and well-being as students return to school. Parents are advised to check whether children are up to date on required vaccinations, complete necessary school health and medication forms and establish healthy routines for sleep and nutrition. ODH also recommends planning safe routes for children who walk or bike to school and ensuring proper use of helmets, car seats and booster seats. Registration is now open for the annual in-person fall conference of the Ohio Society of Health Care Risk Managers and the Society for Ohio Health Care Attorneys. The one-day event will be held Sept. 25 at the Quest Conference Center in Westerville, Ohio. The conference will bring together risk managers, attorneys, and health care leaders to discuss key legal, regulatory and risk management issues affecting hospitals and health systems. Sessions will cover topics including patient safety, liability, medical board updates and emerging health care policy developments. OHA this week announced that Sean McGlone, OHA's senior vice president and general counsel, will become the organization’s next president and chief executive officer effective Oct. 17, 2026. McGlone will succeed Mike Abrams, who joined OHA as president and CEO in February 2012. Abrams announced his retirement earlier this year.
