Sean McGlone Named Next OHA President, CEO
OHA this week announced that Sean McGlone, OHA’s senior vice president and general counsel, will become the organization’s next president and chief executive officer effective Oct. 17, 2026.
McGlone will succeed Mike Abrams, who joined OHA as president and CEO in February 2012. Abrams announced his retirement earlier this year. The OHA Board of Trustrees appointed McGlone during its August retreat.
“I am honored to be selected to lead the next chapter of the Ohio Hospital Association’s long history of service to hospitals,” said McGlone. “Ohio’s hospitals are pillars in their communities, providing 24/7 care to patients, supporting families in their time of need, serving our most vulnerable neighbors, and driving economic activity across the state. For most of my professional career, I have taken great pride in advocating for the hospital community because of the incredible work hospitals do, and I am honored the OHA Board has entrusted me to carry on the momentum created by Mike Abrams and his team.
“There will certainly be challenges ahead, but I am optimistic that the unified strength of our industry will overcome those challenges so hospitals can continue to serve their communities with compassion and distinction.”
