She collapsed at home and was rushed to UC Health West Chester Hospital, where doctors discovered she was in septic shock. The Sepsis Alliance Summit will return Sept. 16-17 for its seventh annual two-day virtual event, bringing together clinicians, researchers, patient advocates and health care leaders to discuss advances in sepsis care. The free summit will feature sessions on refractory septic shock, strategies for improving hospital sepsis outcomes, patient safety and diagnostic quality.
