HHS, CMS to Brief Hospitals on Make Hospital Food Healthier Pledge
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will host a virtual briefing Sept. 22 on the Make Hospital Food Healthier Pledge, a national initiative focused on improving the nutritional quality of food served in health care settings.
The briefing will feature Madison Brown, special adviser in the CMS Office of the Administrator, and Sam Watters, counselor in the Immediate Office of the Secretary at HHS. Speakers will discuss the pledge’s core commitments, the connection between hospital food, patient outcomes and community health, and the process for hospitals to participate. The session also will highlight the resources available to participating organizations.
Hospital leaders will have an opportunity to ask questions and engage with HHS and CMS officials during a live Q&A.
