OHA Welcomes New Senior Vice President of Advocacy
Columbus, Ohio (43215) – The Ohio Hospital Association, the united voice of Ohio’s 252 hospitals and 15 health systems, announces Aaron Crooks as senior vice president of Advocacy.
“Aaron has exceptional experience leading health care policy strategies with the Ohio legislature and administration,” said Mike Abrams, president and CEO, OHA. “We are grateful to have him join the OHA team and to support our advocacy initiatives. As a trusted resource on health care issues, OHA’s advocacy team works with our members, government officials and leaders, health care organizations and the business community to ensure Ohioans have access to high-quality hospital care.”
With more than 20 years working in health care policy and state government, Crooks has served in various leadership roles with the Ohio Senate, Ohio Department of Medicaid, OhioHealth, CareSource, Ohio’s Office of Health Transformation, and Governor DeWine’s Administration. In 2023 he was appointed Chief of Staff for Ohio Lt. Governor Jon Husted where he was responsible for overseeing the staff in the Lt. Governor’s Office as well as the teams at the Common Sense Initiative (CSI), InnovateOhio, and the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation. He served as Director of Legislative Affairs for Governor Mike DeWine from 2021 – 2023 leading the creation and advocacy of the administration’s legislative agenda with the General Assembly and stakeholders. He began his career in the Ohio Senate in 2002 and earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Mount Union in Alliance.
Scott Borgemenke, who formerly held the title of Senior Vice President of Advocacy, was named OHA’s Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of External Affairs earlier this year and will remain engaged in OHA’s advocacy and communications strategies.
