OHA Welcomes New Board Members – Arturo Polizzi and Rodney Stout, MD
Columbus, Ohio (43215) – The Ohio Hospital Association, the united voice of Ohio’s 252 hospitals and 15 health systems, announces the appointments of Arturo Polizzi, president and CEO, ProMedica (Toledo) and Rodney Stout, MD, CEO, Holzer Health (Gallipolis) as a trustees-at-large for its Board of Trustees. The OHA board appointed Mr. Polizzi and Dr. Stout to vacant terms. Mr. Polizzi’s term is effective immediately and Dr. Stout’s term will begin Jan. 1, 2026.
“We are excited to welcome Mr. Polizzi and Dr. Stout to our board at a critical time for health care policy impacting Ohio hospitals,” said Mike Abrams, president and CEO, OHA. “OHA will benefit from their leadership and experience as we collaborate with our members to ensure Ohioans’ access to high-quality hospital care in their communities.”
Polizzi is the president and chief executive officer at ProMedica. He started his career in 1998 at ProMedica as an in-house attorney. Over the past 20 years, he has served in various strategic and operational roles at the organization, including associate general counsel, chief human resources officer, president of the metro Toledo ProMedica hospitals, and president and chief operating officer. Before returning to ProMedica as the chief operating officer, Polizzi served as the president and CEO at Christ Hospital Health Network in Cincinnati. Polizzi earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Miami University, a Juris Doctorate from The University of Toledo College of Law and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan.
“I am honored to have been appointed to the Ohio Hospital Association Board of Trustees, and I look forward to helping shape policies and set the strategic direction to address the pressing matters affecting Ohio’s hospitals,” said Polizzi.
Dr. Stout serves a CEO of Holzer Health system. Before his appointment as CEO in January 2024 he served in a variety of leadership roles within the system including: Holzer Clinic Board of Directors, Holzer Health System Board of Directors, Chief Medical Officer, and the Director of Clinical Research. Dr. Stout joined Holzer as an Endocrinologist in 1995. He completed his medical education at The University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania and a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at The University of Missouri. He completed a master’s in medical management from Carnegie Mellon University.
“I am honored to serve on the Ohio Hospital Association board,” said Stout. “I look forward to collaborating with other leaders and providing insight and perspective for rural healthcare.”
The OHA Board sets policy and strategic direction for matters affecting hospitals throughout Ohio. The board includes representatives from small and large hospitals, urban and rural hospitals, teaching facilities and independent facilities and health care systems.
