OHA Welcomes New Board Officers, Trustees for 2026

OHA today announced new officers and welcomed new members to our Board of Trustees for 2026.

New OHA Board leadership for 2026 includes Steve Markovich, MD, president and CEO, OhioHealth, chair; Ben Gill, president and CEO, Southern Ohio Medical Center, chair-elect; Deborah Hayes, president & CEO, The Christ Hospital Health Network, secretary/treasurer; and Cliff Deveny, MD, president and CEO, Summa Health System, will serve as immediate past chair.

New trustees-at-large beginning Jan. 1 are Christine Alexander-Rager, MD, president and CEO, The MetroHealth System; John Luellen, MD, state president, Ohio, Bon Secours Mercy Health; Rob Mullen, president and CEO, Aultman Health System; and Rodney Stout, MD, CEO, Holzer Health. Trustees-at-large who were previously appointed to board vacancies and were recently elected to new three-year terms are Brent Burkey, MD, president and CEO, Fisher-Titus Health; and Jorge Guzman, MD, executive vice president & president Northeast market, Cleveland Clinic.

Returning trustees are: Anita Hackstedde, MD, president & CEO, Salem Regional Medical Center; Cliff Megerian, MD, CEO, University Hospitals; Arturo Polizzi, president and CEO, ProMedica; Mike Riordan, president and CEO, Premier Health; Tim Robinson, CEO, Nationwide Children’s; Chad Ross, president and CEO, Mary Rutan Health; and John Warner, MD, CEO, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

DeWine Taps Directors of Behavioral Health, Developmental Disabilities

Gov. Mike DeWine this week announced that he is nominating Tia Marcel Moretti as director of the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health, or DBH, and Lyndsay Nash as director of the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities, or DODD. Moretti has an extensive background working with community-based mental health and addiction services. She had been serving as interim director of DBH and previously spent time as DeWine’s deputy director of RecoveryOhio. Nash had been serving as interim director of DODD, and previously served as in-house counsel, director of compliance and assistant director of the department. Last Chance for Presentation Proposals! Submit for Annual Meeting by Dec. 31

OHA is seeking evidence-based presentations, case studies and practical tools that address current issues facing Ohio hospitals. Presented at the 111th OHA Annual Meeting in May 2026, proposals must be submitted by Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025. Submissions will be reviewed by committees of hospital leaders and subject matter experts, with a focus on relevance, clarity and real-world applicability. Prospective presenters are encouraged to submit proposals aligned with one of the event’s designated educational tracks.
