Research Shows Hospitals Play Vital Role as 24/7 Care Providers

Hospitals provide indispensable, around-the-clock care for patients nationwide, a new KNG Health Consulting report commissioned by the Coalition to Strengthen America’s Healthcare reveals. The analysis highlights hospitals’ ability to treat complex conditions, with 80% operating emergency departments and 45% housing trauma centers staffed for life-threatening injuries.

In 2021, more than half of the 17.6 million hospital admissions through EDs occurred after hours. Hospitals are also essential for underserved and rural communities, handling nearly 18 million rural ED visits in 2021. Amid financial pressures, the report urges policymakers to ensure fair reimbursements to sustain hospital services. Read more here.

2025 OONL Fall Conference Kicks Off Wednesday

The Ohio Organization for Nursing Leadership invites members and Ohio nurse leaders to attend the in-person fall conference. Happy Halloween! Celebrate Safely with Tips from Ohio Fire Marshal

With Halloween upon us, the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of State Fire Marshal is reminding families to make fire safety part of their holiday fun.
