AHA Offers Toolkit to Support Open Enrollment for 2026 Coverage

Open enrollment for 2026 health coverage begins Saturday, and the American Hospital Association is helping individuals navigate their options with a new online toolkit offering guidance and outreach resources. Enrollment for Health Insurance Marketplace plans runs from Nov. 1, 2025, through Jan. 15, 2026, while Medicare open enrollment is open Oct. 16 through Dec. 7, 2025.

The AHA emphasizes that access to health coverage improves care outcomes and strengthens community well-being. Its toolkit includes resources to help hospitals, health systems and community partners make the enrollment process easier and more accessible for all. 2025 OONL Fall Conference Kicks Off Wednesday

The Ohio Organization for Nursing Leadership invites members and Ohio nurse leaders to attend the in-person fall conference. The three-day program kicks off Nov. 5 at a new venue this year -- the Renaissance Hotel in Westerville The conference schedule includes a pre-conference session, one-and-a-half days of educational programming, evidence-based poster presentations, two keynote sessions, awards presentation, CNO roundtable breakfast and OONL updates. Happy Halloween! Celebrate Safely with Tips from Ohio Fire Marshal

With Halloween upon us, the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of State Fire Marshal is reminding families to make fire safety part of their holiday fun. In a recent release, the agency warned that Halloween is among the top days for home fires, often caused by candles and decorations placed too close to heat sources. State Fire Marshal Kevin Reardon encouraged Ohioans to use flame-resistant costumes and battery-operated candles to prevent accidents. 2026 Health Care Worker of the Year Nominations Due Nov. 30

OHA’s Albert E. Dyckes Health Care Worker of the Year Award honors the excellence of front-line health care workers and is presented each year to one Ohio caregiver from one of our member hospitals who routinely goes beyond the call of duty, daily reflects the mission and values of their organization, and notably gives back to the community.
