Nationwide Children’s to Host Statewide Pediatric EMS Conference March 6

Nationwide Children’s Hospital will host the 2026 Ohio Emergency Medical Services for Children, or EMSC, Annual Conference on Friday, March 6, at its conference center in Columbus, bringing together EMS and emergency medicine professionals from across the state. The statewide event will run from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offers 7.25 hours of continuing education credit across multiple disciplines.

Attendees will participate in lectures, workshops and panel discussions focused on advancing pediatric emergency readiness. The conference aims to strengthen clinical skills and interprofessional coordination to improve outcomes for children in emergency settings.

A special early bird registration rate ends Jan. 9, 2026, and regular registration will close Feb. 27, 2026. Learn more and register here.

OHA Members Receive Grants for Pediatric Cancer Research

The new state budget signed this summer includes $5 million in grants to support pediatric cancer research at five hospitals, including OHA members Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Cleveland Clinic and Dayton Children’s Hospital, as well as Maple Tree Cancer Alliance. Gov. Mike DeWine announced the funding this past week, highlighting the importance of advancing life-saving research for children. The grants aim to expand studies on early detection and treatment of pediatric cancers, including a blood test being developed at Nationwide Children’s to detect cancer before symptoms appear.
