Knox Community Hospital Signs Letter of Intent to Join Kettering Health

Knox Community Hospital has signed a non-binding letter of intent to join Kettering Health, marking the next step in a process aimed at strengthening local access to care and ensuring the hospital’s long-term sustainability. Hospital leaders said Kettering Health was selected following an extensive evaluation of potential partners based on its commitment to preserving local care, investing in technology and services, and supporting physicians and employees.

The organizations will now enter a period of exclusive negotiations and continued due diligence, with a goal of finalizing a definitive agreement this fall and completing the transaction by the end of 2026, pending regulatory approval. As part of the proposed partnership, Kettering Health has committed to significant capital investments over the next decade, including implementation of a new electronic health record system, while intending to retain substantially all active Knox Community Hospital employees.

Leaders also said an advisory board composed of current Knox Community Hospital board members would help ensure the community’s voice remains central to future decisions.
