The Ohio Department of Health has reported the state’s third measles outbreak of 2026, with four related cases identified in Ashtabula and Tuscarawas counties. Baxter has voluntarily recalled a specific lot of Cefazolin in Dextrose Injection after particulate matter identified as cardboard was found in the solution. The affected product is used intravenously to treat bacterial infections and help prevent infections during surgery. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, use of the product could potentially lead to serious complications, including pulmonary embolism and inflammation of the veins, although no adverse events have been reported. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration has released findings from its 2025 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, offering an updated look at substance use, mental health and treatment trends across the United States.
