Gear Up for National Nurses Week with Tools from AONL

Central Ohio’s leading hospital systems will take center stage at this year’s Columbus Opportunity Summit, hosted by Columbus Business First, as the event shifts its focus to the region’s evolving health care landscape. The Aug. 27 summit will feature CEOs from the area’s largest health systems: John Warner, MD, of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Stephen Markovich, MD of OhioHealth, Tauana McDonald of Mount Carmel Health System and Tim Robinson of Nationwide Children's Hospital. The 30th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is set to begin at 10 a.m. Saturday. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration hosts Drug Take Back Day to provide a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. The state of Ohio collected nearly 40,000 pounds of prescription drugs during the previous Take Back Day in October 2025. Click here to find disposal sites near you.

Bowling Green State University and Lake Erie College have launched a new partnership aimed at expanding graduate education opportunities in health and human performance fields. The agreement creates a pathway for Lake Erie students in exercise science and related programs to pursue advanced degrees in athletic training, physical therapy and occupational therapy at BGSU. The collaboration is designed to strengthen Ohio’s health care workforce and provide students with clearer routes to in-demand careers. Eligible programs include BGSU’s master’s in athletic training and doctoral programs in physical and occupational therapy, with flexible learning options available. Learn more here.
