DeWine Highlights OhioSEE Program, Literacy Success at New London Schools

April 10, 2026

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine this week visited New London Local Schools in Huron County to highlight the district’s participation in the OhioSEE vision program and recognize its literacy achievements. The district is among a select group statewide to have all school buildings earn the Governor’s Science of Reading Champions Award.

During the visit, students received no-cost eyeglasses through the OhioSEE program, which provides vision services to children in high-need counties. The initiative aims to improve both vision and reading outcomes by delivering care directly within schools.
