Avita Health System’s Joel Delavern Receives 2025 OSHFM Eagle Award

Joel Delavern, Plant Operations director at Avita Health System, was honored with the Ohio Society for Health Care Facilities Managers’ Eagle Award Thursday at the annual OSHFM Fall Conference in Westerville. The award recognizes recognizes a facility manager or staff member who has demonstrated outstanding performance, leadership, unique service or significant contributions in energy efficiency, health care facilities management, plant engineering, design/construction, security, safety, clinical engineering and/or telecommunications.

Delavern has overhauled plant operations across three hospital campuses, improving efficiency, responsiveness and regulatory readiness. Over the past year, he led major projects including the Ontario South Campus Oncology Project, a new outpatient services addition and multiple facility improvements.

2026 Annual Meeting Presentation Proposals Due Dec. 13

OHA is accepting presentation proposals for its 111th Annual Meeting & Education Summit, scheduled for May 19-21, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency Columbus. The three-day forum brings together hospital and health system leaders from across Ohio to share knowledge, explore innovations and collaborate on pressing issues. 60-minute sessions will align with various tracks, including Workforce Strategy/Human Resources, Nursing Practice & Leadership, Risk Management, Rural Hospital Health Care and more. Register Now! 2025 OONL Fall Conference Begins Nov. 5

The Ohio Organization for Nursing Leadership invites members and Ohio nurse leaders to attend the in-person fall conference. The three-day program kicks off Nov. 5 at a new venue this year -- the Renaissance Hotel in Westerville The conference schedule includes a pre-conference session, one-and-a-half days of educational programming, evidence-based poster presentations, two keynote sessions, awards presentation, CNO roundtable breakfast and OONL updates. OHA Releases New Medicare Enrollment Resources for Providers to Share

OHA has created a dedicated webpage to share resources for providers to share with those choosing a plan for the first time or those looking to make changes. The Medicare Resources page includes a fact sheet reviewing the differences between Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage, a "Know Your Rights" fact sheet for Medicare Advantage beneficiaries, two social media graphics and links to state and federal reference information.
