Akron Children’s is featuring Beads of Courage, an international hospital program that honors and celebrates the big steps patients take in health. The program provides hand-blown glass beads, varying in shapes, colors, pattens and size, to give to patients for every milestone in their health journey. Patients have received beads for their first admissions, visits from therapy dogs, expressive therapies and more. Read more

Cincinnati Children’s Opens New Applied Gene, Cell Therapy Center

A new state-of-the-art applied gene and cell therapy center recently opened in Sharonville. The $60 million investment will help increase clinical trials of innovative drugs and biological therapeutics for patients with a variety of genetic conditions, such as blood disorders, cancer and more. The facility also has many partnerships with large pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, universities and other health systems. Read more
