Akron Children’s is featuring Beads of Courage, an international hospital program that honors and celebrates the big steps patients take in health. The program provides hand-blown glass beads, varying in shapes, colors, pattens and size, to give to patients for every milestone in their health journey. A new state-of-the-art applied gene and cell therapy center recently opened in Sharonville. The $60 million investment will help increase clinical trials of innovative drugs and biological therapeutics for patients with a variety of genetic conditions, such as blood disorders, cancer and more.
