Sean McGlone

Sean McGlone was named OHA’s president and CEO in August 2026, and his appointment took effect in October 2026. Sean is a seasoned legal and health care association executive with nearly 30 years of experience working at the intersection of health care law, advocacy, and public policy. As president and chief executive officer of the Ohio Hospital Association Sean guides a diverse membership of more than 250 hospitals through a complex advocacy environment and regulatory, legislative, and operational challenges. He leads a team of more than 40 associates, supports an 18-member Board of Trustees, and works with hospital leaders across the state in furtherance of OHA’s mission to ensure Ohioans' access to high-quality hospital care. Sean joined the OHA team in 2009 and served as OHA’s senior vice president and general counsel since 2012. He is recognized for his consensus-building leadership style, strategic vision, and commitment to advancing the interests of Ohio’s hospitals. His experience includes hospital association leadership, advocacy on behalf of hospitals, legislative and regulatory analysis, direct lobbying, legal compliance, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to solve health care policy challenges. Prior to joining OHA in 2009 Sean worked as an attorney in the health care practice group at Bricker & Eckler LLP (now Bricker Graydon Wyatt LLP), where he represented hospitals on a wide variety of legal and regulatory compliance issues. He began his career in public service as a legislative aide and caucus staff for Speaker Jo Ann Davidson in the Ohio House of Representatives. Sean holds a law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class and contributed to the Ohio State Law Journal. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Wittenberg University.
