OHA Thanks Hospitals for Advancing Sustainability Efforts Ahead of Earth Day

As Earth Day approaches April 22, OHA thanks member hospitals across the state for their continued commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. Through our Energy & Sustainability Program, OHA supports these efforts by offering tools and resources that help facilities reduce emissions, lower costs and strengthen resilience.

BGSU, Lake Erie College Partnership Expands Graduate Pathways in Health Fields

Bowling Green State University and Lake Erie College have launched a new partnership aimed at expanding graduate education opportunities in health and human performance fields. The agreement creates a pathway for Lake Erie students in exercise science and related programs to pursue advanced degrees in athletic training, physical therapy and occupational therapy at BGSU. The collaboration is designed to strengthen Ohio’s health care workforce and provide students with clearer routes to in-demand careers. Eligible programs include BGSU’s master’s in athletic training and doctoral programs in physical and occupational therapy, with flexible learning options available. Learn more here.

Health Care Workforce Training Campus Set to Open in Cleveland

A new health care workforce development campus is set to open in Cleveland later this year through a partnership between New Bridge Cleveland, Youth Opportunities Unlimited and the Central School of Practical Nursing. The 100,000-square-foot facility, known as the Career District, will offer education, job training and support services to prepare students for health care careers ranging from entry-level to advanced roles. Located in the St. Clair-Superior neighborhood, the campus will bring classrooms, labs and resources such as child care and food access under one roof. Read more here.

Submit Special Accommodations for OHA Annual Meeting by April 25

Attendees of the 111th OHA Annual Meeting & Education Summit, May 19-21 at the Hyatt Regency Columbus, are reminded that requests for special accommodations must be submitted by Friday, April 25. The OHA works to support individuals with dietary needs, including vegetarian, gluten-free and non-dairy options, as well as those requiring physical accommodations or auxiliary services. Requests should be submitted via email to Casey.Strader@ohiohospitals.org in advance of the deadline. Early notice helps ensure all participants can fully engage in the event.
