ODM Expands Doula Service Flexibility for Medicaid Providers
June 6, 2025
The Ohio Department of Medicaid has updated its Provider Network Management, or PNM, module, allowing more flexibility for independent providers who wish to offer doula services. Providers with an active Medicaid agreement and a doula certification from the Ohio Board of Nursing can now add the doula specialty (090) as a secondary specialty without giving up their current service lines.
The update aims to expand access to doula care for pregnant women enrolled in Ohio Medicaid. For instructions on updating specialties, providers can consult the PNM Learning tab and must include certification documentation when submitting their request.
