AHA Releases 2026 Workforce Scan, New Tools to Support Hospital Staffing

National Hospital Week begins Sunday, May 10, and OHA encourages members to plan celebrations and staff recognition activities using a new set of digital resources and promotional tools from the American Hospital Association. Available resources include downloadable social media graphics, sample messaging, event ideas, storytelling tools and customizable content hospitals can use to recognize staff and engage their communities. The AHA also is offering Hospital Week merchandise, including apparel and gifts for employees and volunteers. Additional resources, toolkits and engagement materials are available through the AHA’s National Hospital Week webpage and communications resource hub.

Gov. Mike DeWine has declared May as Mental Health Awareness Month in Ohio, with the Ohio Department of Behavioral Health and RecoveryOhio launching a free digital toolkit to promote awareness, reduce stigma and connect Ohioans with support services. The toolkit includes downloadable graphics, social media resources, mental health tips, stigma-reduction videos and information about the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, which has handled more than 836,000 contacts in Ohio since launching in 2022. Resources also highlight RecoveryOhio’s Pledge to End Stigma, the Ohio Suicide Prevention Toolkit and guidance for employers participating in the Ohio Recovery Friendly Workplace initiative. The Ohio Board of Pharmacy is reminding providers to verify their OARRS account information before June 9, when a new Provider Authorization feature takes effect. The update will automatically validate user credentials in real time and could disrupt access to the Ohio Automated Rx Reporting System for providers whose accounts are inactive or contain outdated license, DEA or NPI information. Providers are encouraged to review and update their existing accounts as soon as possible to avoid interruptions to workflow and compliance requirements. Additionally, medical residents and pharmacy interns transitioning to new credentials are urged to update their account information promptly.…
