The Christ Hospital Health Network is among the first in its region to use a robotic approach to reduce pain in lung surgery. This procedure involves a single-port probiotic system, in which a surgeon operates with a camera and surgical tools through a small opening. This innovation allows surgeons to avoid going between ribs, which is a major pain source in many chest surgeries. While this technology isn’t new, its use in this type of lung surgery marks a first locally.
