Salem Regional Medical Center Lab Receives National Recognition

Cleveland Clinic, one of seven sites of the Davos Alzheimer’s Collaborative, is beginning a new project involving blood-based bio markers in the process of Alzheimer's diagnosis. This study will include 1,200 patients, age 55 and older, who show signs of cognitive impartment with no Alzheimer’s diagnosis, who will be tested with this new system over the course of 18 months. This study will be taking place at all Cleveland Clinic Center for Geriatric Medicine locations as well as Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health outpatient centers across Northeast Ohio. Read more

Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley recently announced it is moving its Warren pediatrics office to the Warren G. Harding High School Wellness Center. This relocation will make pediatric care more accessible, providing well-child checks, sports physicals, immunizations as well as injury and illness treatment. This move will also enhance both the chronic and immediate health issues for students, treating a range from asthma and diabetes to common injuries. Read more

Mercy Health recently added its 10th urgent care in the Cincinnati area at the Jungle Jim's International Market complex. The centers include several exam rooms, a procedure room and two X-ray and lab rooms, allowing patients to receive imaging and bloodwork results. Read more

University Hospitals is investing $39 million to create a regional cancer hub at UH TriPoint Medical Center in Painesville. The new facility will consolidate cancer services from other UH locations while also expanding maternity care for premature infants. Read more
