AHA Promotes Toolkit, Resources for Hospitals Against Violence

The American Hospital Association is inviting hospitals and health systems to join in its #HAVhope campaign to raise awareness for Hospitals Against Violence. The ninth annual national day of awareness for the cause is next Friday, June 6, and AHA has provided hospitals with a multitude of resources for the occasion. OHA members can also access our Hospital Violence Prevention toolkit, which features a library of evidence-based tools, strategies and resources to assess and prevent violence, here.

ODH to Host June 13 Webinar on Measles Risk, Prevention

The Ohio Department of Health’s Bureau of Infectious Diseases will host a webinar for health care providers from noon to 1 p.m. June 13 focused on measles activity, prevention strategies and updated clinical guidance. The session will cover case definitions, reporting requirements, testing protocols and MMR vaccine recommendations across patient populations and health care staff. A Q&A session will follow the presentation, and a recording will be available for those unable to attend live. Questions can be pre-submitted to ORBIT@odh.ohio.gov. Use this link to join the webinar.

National Grange Ad Urges Congress to Protect Rural Health Care Access

The National Grange, a 150-year-old rural advocacy group, has launched a new 30-second ad urging Congress to protect health care access in rural communities. The spot highlights the critical role Medicaid and health care tax credits play in ensuring coverage for rural patients. The ad is part of a broader campaign responding to recent discussions around potential Medicaid cuts. Deadline Approaching: Submit for CE Credits from Annual Meeting by June 11

Thank you to the more than 1,000 attendees at OHA’s Annual Meeting & Education Summit this past week. As a reminder, to receive any continuing education credits for – AHIMA, ASHE, CHHR, CLE, CPE, CPHQ, CPHRM, HRCI, Nursing and/or SHRM – you must complete the corresponding online evaluation for the sessions you attended during the annual meeting. The only way to complete an evaluation is by the OHA mobile app or the online version of the mobile app. The evaluation system will close on Wednesday, June 11. Once the CE evaluation system closes on June 11, CE Certificates will be processed. MetroHealth Among 2025 Vista Award Winners for Construction Excellence

The American Society for Health Care Engineering has named the winners of its 2025 Vista Awards, honoring excellence in health care construction and renovation. OHA member MetroHealth received the New Construction award for The Glick Center, a sustainable acute care hospital designed to improve operational efficiency and patient care. AdventHealth Shawnee Mission in Kansas earned the Renovation award for its modernization of a decades-old facility.
