AHA Launches New Hub on Reducing Disparities in Health Outcomes

OHA invites members to register for "Working Smarter Together," a 12-part webinar series running Sept. 2 through Nov. 18. Sessions will explore innovative strategies, technology and operational improvements to optimize revenue cycle performance. Each 45- to 60-minute webinar offers practical takeaways to help hospitals boost efficiency, financial resilience and patient outcomes. This webinar series is complimentary for OHA members. The back-to-school season is a great time to engage with youth about mental health and substance use to promote their well-being throughout the academic year. To support these conversations, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has launched Free Mind, a new national campaign that provides youth ages 12-17 and their parents and caregivers with resources and information about substance use, mental health, and the connection between the two. With the assistance of the Ohio Department of Health, newborns can be signed up in the hospital by parents or caregivers to receive a free monthly book from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. This registration will occur while completing the Birth Parent Worksheet for the Certificate of Live Birth. As of Aug. 6, parents and caregivers who sign up will receive their child's first book in 8-10 weeks, ensuring their child receives the full collection of 60 free books before entering kindergarten.
