CDC: Measles Cases Climb to 935 Nationwide, 33 in Ohio

The CDC has confirmed 935 measles cases in 2025 across 30 jurisdictions, with Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma at the outbreak’s epicenter. In Ohio, the count was 33, with cases in Ashtabula County, 14 in Knox County and one each in Allen, Defiance and Holmes counties.

The CDC reports:

  • Hospitalizations: 121 people (13%) have been hospitalized, including 30% of children under 5 with the virus.
  • Vaccination status: 96% of cases are unvaccinated or have unknown status.
