OHA Offers Workers’ Compensation Benchmarking Program
The Ohio Hospital Association’s Safety Leadership Council invites member hospitals to sign up for the 2017 Workers’ Compensation Benchmarking Service
. In 2016 more than 80 hospitals took advantage of the service to evaluate safety performance and promote best practices for employee safety management.
RiskControl360°, a safety and risk management consulting firm, is OHA’s workers’ compensation benchmarking service administrator and provides hospitals the ability to anonymously compare their employee injury rates and costs against aggregate data from all participating hospitals. This information is then used to develop business plans to further improve workplace safety performance.
Hospitals participating in the service receive a five-year evaluation of their workplace injury rates and costs and a comprehensive report of their benchmarking findings. Participating hospitals also have access to one-on-one web-based consulting and are invited to attend an annual injury prevention workshop in September for no additional cost. Additionally, participating in the benchmarking service is one of two criteria necessary to be eligible for the prestigious OHA William C. Kelley Award for Excellence in Occupational Safety.
The Workers’ Compensation Benchmarking service is available to OHA member hospitals for a flat fee of $300 per facility for new members and $250 per facility for renewing members.
