Ohio Society for Health Care Facilities Management
OSHFM was established as an affiliated society of OHA in 1983. The society’s purpose is to advance the development of hospital engineering, security and safety in Ohio.
OSHFM Eagle Award
This award recognizes facility managers and staff who have demonstrated outstanding performance, leadership, or unique service or significant contribution towards energy efficiency, health care engineering/architecture, and facilities management. The criteria for this award has been modified to simplify the nomination process.
2016 Eagle Award Recipient - Wayne Eckert
The Ohio Society for Health Care Facilities Management selected Wayne Eckert, senior director of Facilities Engineering and Operations at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, as the 2016 Eagle Award recipient.
Eckert has played an integral role in the growth of the medical center, as well as the departmental structure to support it, according to his nomination. He developed centralized electrical support and founded and managed day-to-day operations of the Planning and Project department prior to becoming the director of Operations. Eckert was a major contributor of the design and structure of the Ross Heart Hospital as well as The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, which is the third largest cancer hospital in the country.
